The Friendship 9 made a bold statement in 1961, but their efforts didn’t end once they got out of jail. Today they tell their story to audiences, hoping that their actions as teens inspire young people to have that same audacity.

 

Most of the men still live in the South Carolina area and continue to be a large part of their community.
